It's Friday, and the weekend events begin

Breckenridge Ski Resort

Taking this photo was another of my goals for the trip.  This shows my 'Vette in the foreground with my favorite ski area as a background.

but she's getting in the wrong side!

Friday brought the 1st of the fun events.  A car rally through the back roads (paved).  Of course, a rally requires a driver AND navigator.  I was able to find a young lady (Dana Goldsmith works the front desk of the Beaver Run Resort) in the parking lot looking for a ride.  I needed a navigator so off we went.   Of course, we had to discuss who was driving and who was navigating!  I drove!

Great drive in some beautiful countryside.  Breckenridge to Copper Mountain, to Leadville, back road through the Tennessee Pass to Minturn, to I-70, past Vail, back to Copper Mountain.  Absolutely beautiful country.

I didn't log the miles but we were on the road for about 4 hours.  Trick questions, fun games, photo shoot, and even a trip up the chair lift at Copper Mountain.

Looks like an expensive used car lot on left!

As we drove from Copper back to towards Breckenridge, I asked Dana if she could drive a stick.  She said her car was a standard.  At that point I offered to let her drive the 'Vette back into Breckenridge.  Well, I don't know of anything else that would have made her happier at that moment.  She was so excited.  She drove the 9 miles from Frisco back to Breckenridge, right into the parking lot so her friends could see her (and be envious!)

This was another great day.  Finding Dana hanging out in the parking lot at the start of the day, she looking for a ride and me looking for a navigator, allowed both of us to enjoy an awesome day in the sun.  Wonderful!
